As you all know day by day people giving up mass transit and opting to buy their own vehicle which gradually made the automobile industry hot. Nowadays we can experience an increase in vehicles as well as traffic but without caring about the future the automobile industry is firing up the market with brand new models and features that inspires customers to buy their own vehicle.

Born out of this competition, came up these three beasts that burn up the Indian roads. They are none other than Bajaj Pulsar 250cc, TVS Taurus Fiero f3 and Yamaha Fazer 250. "NASA Celebrates 50 Years" On The Space Coast

LOGO OF 50 YEARS CELEBRATION

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER -- NASA opened for business 50 years ago Wednesday, and changed Central Florida forever.

The space agency started nearly one year to the day after the Soviet Union launched Sputnik, which was Oct. 1, 1958.

Early launches were completed from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Then, in 1962, the Kennedy Space Center was built to handle the massive Saturn V moon rocket.

Since then, Central Florida has seen Skylab, the space shuttle, and the International Space Station head into orbit from KSC.

"Don't stop at 50,” said Louis Smith, a tourist. “You know, you hear all these things about money being an issue, and sometimes you wonder where's the next dollar going to come from to keep this up. That's pretty exciting, and you can only hope and pray they keep it up."

The next 50 years will start with the shuttle's retirement and the Constellation program.

Anniversary Brings Back Memories To Longtime Workers

The space agency's anniversary is bringing back many memories for longtime workers.

Jack King has been around NASA for 50 years. He was a newsman in 1958, and then became Public Affairs Officer for the space agency, calling out memorable launches for the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs.

He remembers when President John F. Kennedy said the space program's goal was to put a man on the moon by the end of the 60s, and the work that followed to make it happen.

“They have a proud heritage to look back on, and they have great challenges for the future,” King said. “When you think of it another way, NASA is an agency of the federal government, one of its most outstanding agencies that has ever existed because of it's outstanding performance over the past 50 years.”

King said it's NASA's perseverance through tough times, such as the two shuttle disasters, that will get the agency through the next 50 years.

New Version of Honda City Launched

Honda launched its new version of sedan, Honda City in India today. The third generation model from Honda will be available in a price band of Rs. 7.9 lakh and Rs. 9.1 lakh. It will be available in three different grades with both automatic and manual transmission with a 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine.

Rupee falls to five-year low of 47.22 against US dollar

Mumbai, Oct 1.. The Indian rupee today fell by 26 paise to its five-year low of 47.22 against the US dollar in early trade today owing to increased demand for the greenback from importers. The level was last seen on June 2, 2003.

At the Interbank Forex Exchange market (Forex), the Indian currency, which breached the 47-mark for the first time in two years on Monday and closed at 46.96/97, plunged by another 26 paise to 47.22 against the US dollar.

'Om Shanti Om' amongst 5 Indian films nominated for Asia Pacific awards

Sydney, Oct 1 (IANS) 'Om Shanti Om', 'Jodha Akbar' and 'Taare Zameen Par' are amongst five Indian films nominated Wednesday for the 2008 Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), the highest accolade for film in the region.

The smash hit 'Om Shanti Om' has been nominated for Best Feature Film, Ashutosh Gowariker's blockbuster 'Jodhaa Akbar' for Achievement in Cinematography, Aamir Khan's critically acclaimed 'Taare Zameen Par' and K. Kanade's 'Mahek' for Best Children's Feature and Rajat Kapoor has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actor for 'The Prisoner' by Pryas Gupta.

The awards for the nine out of the 12 APSA categories will be announced at the popular tourist destination of Gold Coast on November 11.

Om Shanti Om will compete with Men Jeuk (Sparrow, Hong Kong), Tulpan (Kazakhstan, Russia, Switzerland/Poland/Germany), Hong Se Kang Bai Yin (The Red Awn,People's Republic of China) and Uc maymun (Three Monkeys, Turkey/France/Italy) for the Best Feature Film Award.

The Awards have attracted more than 180 films from 43 countries, showcasing the talent and cinematic diversity of a region covering one-third of the earth's surface and 60 per cent of its total population.

A total of 33 films from 17 countries are vying for the nine award categories. 'We are greatly encouraged by the response from filmmakers from Asia-Pacific in our mission to acclaim their work and promote it to an international audience,' said APSA chairman Des Power.

Two additional awards will be presented for outstanding achievement: The International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) Award for outstanding achievement in film in the Asia-Pacific region; and the UNESCO Award for outstanding contribution to the promotion and preservation of cultural diversity through film.

APSA is an initiative of the Queensland Government in collaboration with CNN International, UNESCO and FIAPF (The International Federation of Film Producers Associations) to acclaim films that best reflect their cultural origins and cinematic excellence.
